Grateful for assistance
Ian has lost the avbility of his legs to stand/walk. This has meant that Fiona has had to physically move him using a transfer board and sheets and pulling on his clothing. He also battles to swallow so a simple thing like swallowing saliva is not so simple any more.
It’s been a tough time and we are grateful to the carers who come in for a time in the day and at night to assist with the many things that need to happen.
Ian gets nebulised twice a day, receives chest/back physio and has a cough machine that assists him with clearing mucus blocks that develop, together with a suction machine which Fiona or a carer uses to remove the excess mucus.
