Raising funds again
Joshua, Ian’s grandson joined Laura (previous Ian en ander champion) and Pieter, Ian’s son-in-law at a relay mountain bike event in Sabie. They rode 7km in relay to raise funds for Ian. A sponsor came forward for their team. Team Brakanjan rode for 2hrs20 and did very well! They had completed 7 laps by then. If time had been on their side, they would have contested for a better position. None-the-less, support from Jennie, Martie and Norman most definitely added to the atmosphere and MND/ALS awareness campaign.
Palliative care comes in 3 forms, symptom management, emotional support and spiritual care. Ian and family would like to extend their gratitude to those providing care both in prayer, visits and financial means to ensure this care continues.
Wishlist:
Amazon subscription for audiobooks. Eye-gaze software and compatible devices so that Ian can communicate using his eyes rather than his voice. Cough-assist machine.
