Supportive devices
Ian has a shoulder-brace to keep his arm from dislocating at the shoulder. His right bicep has now dropped. He has to wear this when walking as the weight of his arms pull down too much.
His orthitist has fitted his neck support and wants to see Ian in 2 weeks time to make adjustments and fit new struts if need be. Ian is able to hold his neck for short periods of time when sitting but when he walks his head falls forward. The struts simply provide support but do not replace any current neck muscle action. Ian needs to get used to the device and gain confidence when using it.
Ian and Fiona both extend their heartfelt gratitude to every person who has contributed financially towards the devices and medical care that are assisting Ian with quality of life.
