Residents of Cathkin Estates enjoy a mountain retreat with stunning scenery.The atmosphere is one of peaceful, tranquil ambience for which many of us yearn. The antelope on the Estate include eland, blesbuck,red hartebeest, oribi, zebra and wildebeest. The birdlife includes many varieties of grassland birds, waterfowl and raptors such as jackal buzzards, cape
vultures, yellow-billed kites, snake eagles and black shouldred kites. Walks start from your front door . There is a short walk to a hide from which one can study vultures feasting from carcasses in the “vultures’ restaurant”.
Another hike is through a gorge leading to a waterfall through an indiginous forrest teeming with birdlife. Alternatively, one can enjoy pleasant strolls anywhere on the 1000 ha estate Activities nearby include golf courses, bird of prey display shows,
restaurants, art and craft shops, 4rivers adventures with quad biking, zip-line, archery and paintball.


The second bedroom has a queen size double bed and the en suite bathroom has a shower, basin and loo. The third bedroom has twin beds. The en suite bathroom has a large shower, basin and loo.
There is underfloor heating in all the bathrooms. There are oil heaters in each bedroom.If one gets the occassional cold snap during the Summer months, all the bathrooms have heated towel rails.


The open plan dining, kitchen and lounge area has cylindrical large gas fireplacethat gives off instant heat. Comfortable chunky leather lounge suite. with surround sound. There are glass sliding doors leading from the lounge onto a patio that boasts uninterrupted views of Champagne Castle and Cathkin Peak The cottage is serviced before arrival and after departure.
Special arrangements can be made for a daily maid service @ R150 extra per day.
